"[opening narration, first lines of the film] With every sun, comes a new day... a new beginning... a hope that things will be better today than they were yesterday... but not for me. My name's Eep, and this is my family, the Croods. If you weren't clued in already by the animal skins and slipping foreheads, we're cavemen. Most days, we spend in our cave. In the dark. Night after night, day after day. Yep, home sweet home. When we did go out, we struggled to find food in our harsh and hostile world, and I struggled to survive my family. We were the last ones around. There used to be neighbours. The Gorts, smashed by a mammoth, the Horks, swallowed by a sandsnake, the Ervs, mosquito bite, Throgs, common cold, and the Croods, that's us. The Croods made it, because of my dad. He was strong, and he followed the rules... the ones painted on the cave walls. Anything new is bad, curiosity is bad, going out at night is bad; basically, anything fun is bad. Welcome to my world! But this is a story about how all that changed in an instant, because what we didn't know was that our world was about to come to an end, and there were no rules on our cave walls to prepare us for that."

"[repeated line] You really need to see this!"

"[After her family destroys her shell] What’s wrong with you?"

"[lovingly to Guy, who wakes up from his run-in with Grug] Hi!"

"[about her family] They're not so scary once you get to know them."

"[catches Guy, who's running away] Going somewhere?"

"[closing narration, final lines of the film] This is me. My name's Eep, and this is my family, the Croods. If you weren't clued in by the sun tans and pads, we're not exactly cavemen anymore. Our world is still plenty harsh and hostile, but now we know the Croods will make it, because we changed the rules... the ones that kept us in the dark, and because of my dad, who taught us that anyone can change... well, sort of. So from now on, we'll stay out here, where we can follow the light."

"[from trailer; voice-over] My family has always survived by living by my dad's one rule: never leave the cave. We never had the chance to explore the outside world, but what we didn't know is that our world was about to change."

"I'm Guy and this is Belt. Cook, conversationalist, navigator, also, keeps my pants up."

"I can help you. But we're gonna have to make a few changes. The log ride is over. Drop the log! [Grug drops the log] Now, kick it away. [Grug kicks it one feet away] Farther! [Grug angrily kicks it far away] Really?"

"[gives Eep a shell horn] If you survive... call me."

"[while running from Grug] Belt, counter-measures! [Belt activates two fruit bombs and throws them at Grug, blinding him.]"
