Harpal Brar (5 October 1939 – 25 January 2025) was an Indian-born communist political activist, writer and businessman, based in Britain. He was the founder and former Chairman of the Communist Party of Great Britain (Marxist–Leninist), a role from which he stood down in 2018. The party was founded in 2004 as a result of a split in the Arthur Scargill-led Socialist Labour Party. In 1991, Brar founded the Stalin Society, an anti-revisionist group defending Joseph Stalin.
