Note: Said as Cybertron was under attack by Unicron. May not have died: one of the storyboards included Unicron killing Shockwave by destroying the command center he was inside, but this was not shown in the finished film, although the character never canonically reappeared in the cartoon anyway. The IDW comic adaptation does explicitly depict him as dying in Unicron's attack.
