"In a real sense the local parish and church should be the extended family for our children where they continue to feel they belong and are accepted and loved. To this end I would propose that we make our church environments child-friendly rather than child proof them as so often happens. Children are not simply to be tolerated as a necessary evil, they must be made positively welcome. Children must feel they own the church as much as we do."
