Such particularly are all combinations of imperfect metallic matters with vitriolic and s: when these bodies are exposed to fire, their acid evaporates, and at the same time carries off with it their inflammable principle. We have examples of this kind of calcination in exposing to fire Martial Vitriol and Bezoar Mineral."
