Rather, they describe the mosque as constructed of “recycled architectural components — notably carved stone columns from Hindu and Jain temples — from earlier Indic buildings”. But recycle would normally mean salvaging from something that had been discarded. The Jain and Hindu temples were centres of worship. They had not been abandoned."
