"On 23rd and 24th May 1981, a secret and urgent meeting of '71 and '75 fighters and ex-army members was held in the seminar room on the third floor of TST, Dhaka University. In this meeting, Colonel Shaukat Ali (currently MP of Awami League, defendant in Agartala conspiracy case) informed the freedom fighter President General Ziaur Rahman Bir Uttam about the plan to kill him and what to do during and after the murder. Colonel Shaukat Ali said that if Ziaur Rahman goes to Chittagong, Zia will be killed under the leadership of Chittagong GOC Major General Manjur Bir Uttam and President Sheikh Hasina is aware of this murder. The president ordered us to help and play a role in this murder. Awami League president Sheikh Hasina has only come to the country for a few days, how can she give such an order? When asked, Colonel Shaukat Ali said that Sheikh Hasina was aware of this while she was outside the country (India)."
