Embryos created via SCNT embryos differ from those created by other ARTs in two ways: they may be heteroplasmic (e.g. contain mtDNA from two sources) and nuclear-encoded mitochondrial DNA transcription and translation factors persist in SCNT, but not IVF, embryos."
