The verb inseco, rare and archaic (here imperative), has the same root as the Greek verb (and also, for example, the English to say and the German sagen, which means "to say"); versutum is partly a calque of polỳtropon (verto / verso = Greek trèpō / tròpos); the Greek Muse is Romanized as Camena (the Camenae or Casmenae, ancient Latin goddesses of springs, were assimilated to the Muses because of the similarity of their name, certainly Etruscan, to carmen)."
