"Physically, Burros was a short, pudgy and sallow-faced man with thick-lensed glasses that made his eyes look larger than they were. When he sat he often put his knees up under his chin, hooked his heels on the edge of the chair, cocked his head to one side and giggled like a teenager. When nervous or excited he giggled uncontrollably. He walked at an oblique angle, never straight ahead, so that he was constantly wearing out the sides of his boot heels. One member recalls that he was the one who was always asking Rockwell for money for new heels."
