"We have ratified most international conventions relating to the environment. I would cite, among others, Law No. 2016-027 authorizing Madagascar's accession to the 1994 Convention on Nuclear Safety and Law No. 2016-019 authorizing the ratification of the Paris Agreement of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. We participate in the various COPs at the parliamentary level as part of the organization of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. Every year, the National Assembly carries out reforestation, and its members are active in information and awareness-raising actions against bushfires and other environmental scourges facing our country."
