The major reduction of sites in the Early Post-urban period (c. 2000-1700 BC) . . . strongly suggests that a major part of the river’s water supply was lost around that time; while the final settlement pattern of the Late Post-urban period indicates that the river was by then dry (i.e. by c. 1300-1000 BC)."
