Where pastures have become inoculated the mushrooms always appear when there has been sufficient rain, after a long dry spell, to thoroughly moisten the earth. If the rain is continued and the soil becomes well soaked, the mushroom production is checked and no more will be found until the soil has again been through another dry period."
