Emmanuelle Marie Charpentier (French pronunciation: [emanɄɛl maʁi ʃaʁpÉ‘Ģƒtje]; born 11 December 1968) is a French professor and researcher in microbiology, genetics, and biochemistry. As of 2015, she has been a director at the Max Planck Institute for Infection Biology in Berlin.
