The 1894 anti-Masonic text La Femme et l'enfant dans la franc-maçonnerie universelle attributed this passage to Freemason Albert Pike's Morals and Dogma (1871). The publicly available text of that work contradicts it and writer Léo Taxil subsequently admitted fabricating it as part of a hoax against both Freemasonry and the Catholic Church.
