"I was having a lot of fun with the whole Descent vibe of the movie. And I wanted to give the audience something something fresh – something they hadn’t seen before,” Roberts told us in a chat this week. “The whole style of the movie was very different from the first – I loved the idea of these creatures moving slowly around in the darkness – stalking."

"Sand Sharks was a fun shoot. Everyone got along really well and the hours weren’t so bad. Brooke Hogan and I became friends immediately and that made everything even more fun and enjoyable. "The Director Griff Furst told me it was his favorite dieing sequence in the whole movie and he gave me the opportunity to make it come to life, which I am forever grateful! "At certain points we did have Jaws-like challenges with the shark. I remember that they needed a close up with me wrestling swamp shark so I hopped back into the swamp, which I had done several times before. I did all my own stunts on Swamp Shark."

"“I think this movie sort of goes above just being a shark movie. What initially attracted both of us to this was, and what I find far more terrifying is the prospect and premise of drowning, of running out of air and it’s a race against the clock. Like, that to me, ugh, is like my greatest fear. That’s far more terrifying than sharks, which are terrifying enough. And I love that this film, it’s about a confluence all those things."
