William R. Alger
William Rounseville Alger (December 28, 1822 – February 7, 1905) was an American Unitarian minister, author, poet, hymnist, editor, and abolitionist. He also served as Chaplain of the Massachusetts House of Representatives. His works included The Poetry of the East (1856) and A Critical History of the Doctrine of a Future Life (1860).
