"Being in Silicon Valley, I see first-hand how the power of technology, innovation, ingenuity and entrepreneurship can create “magic” that can really make a big impact in people’s lives and literally change the world. I would like to encourage the Silicon Valley community to think of how they can help spread that “magic” to the developing world, to increase the cross-collaborations with entrepreneurs from the developing world so they too can leverage the power of innovation and ingenuity to improve the living conditions of all people around the world."
"If I don't start now, my people will remain backward. I have to start, and I'm sure it will require a lot of sacrifice from me. If my brother can do it, why can't I, his younger sister? If men can do it, why can't women?"
"This suggestion is highly appreciated by the board and teachers, but for the time being, the women will try to send the thief by themselves to the edge of the land, and when the female power is no longer able to save the thief, then with all my heart the teachers and the management will ask for your suggestions how, to you who we think we deserve to give up that hope."
"Mr. Governor, my breath is almost gone, it feels like it has reached my neck. Please, Mr. Governor take a look and pay attention to the Diniyah Girls' School."
"...to develop society without the participation of women is like having a bird who wants to fly with one wing. The education of one woman means the education of all the people."
"Figures like Rahmah El Yunusiyah prove that women can be agents of change in education and society."
"The education for women that combined religion and general knowledge introduced by Rahmah El Yunusiyah at Madrasah Diniyah Putri has become a model of modern education in Indonesia."

Young though he was, his radiant energy produced such an impression of absolute reliability that Hedgewar made him the first sarkaryavah, or general secretary, of the RSS.
- Gopal Mukund Huddar
Largely because of the influence of communists in London, Huddar's conversion into an enthusiastic supporter of the fight against fascism was quick and smooth. The ease with which he crossed from one worldview to another betrays the fact that he had not properly understood the world he had grown in.
Huddar would have been 101 now had he been alive. But then centenaries are not celebrated only to register how old so and so would have been and when. They are usually celebrated to explore how much poorer our lives are without them. Maharashtrian public life is poorer without him. It is poorer for not having made the effort to recall an extraordinary life.
I regret I was not there to listen to Balaji Huddar's speech [...] No matter how many times you listen to him, his speeches are so delightful that you feel like listening to them again and again.
By the time he came out of Franco's prison, Huddar had relinquished many of his old ideas. He displayed a worldview completely different from that of the RSS, even though he continued to remain deferential to Hedgewar and maintained a personal relationship with him.
