"I am not going to comply with any law and court as far as the country’s sovereignty and independence is concerned. Their intent becomes clear when film’s writer says Nepal was under India. That the Government of Nepal called this thing a stunt, and the court instructing to allow screening of film means Nepal was under India, and the court and the government are Indian slaves. I am ready to face any punishment for that but the film will not be screened or allowed to be screened."
"Dear Prime Minister, America has already called us corrupt, India calls us beggars, and China doesn't respect us. Forget about me being the mayor and just provide a basis for living as a Nepali."
"We have made it clear. This is a Generation Z movement. Dear Generation Z, the resignation of your murderer has come. Now be moderate!! The loss of the country's people and property means the loss of your property. You and I must be moderate now. Your generation will now have to lead the country. Be prepared! And prepare to negotiate with the army chief. But remember: parliament must be dissolved before negotiations can take place."
"Nepal's legendary activist, elected leader and philosophical and academic figure Rupchandra Bista is considered as the biggest advocate for information accessibility in Nepal... He emphasized people to adopt Thaha to excel their lives and livelihoods.... His campaign is said to be the first such campaigns to have reaches at the settlements of poor people. Despite his well-off familial background, Rudane worked for poor, disadvantaged and the marginalized section of society... During his 66-year-long life, Rudane spent half of his life campaigning for Thaha movement and its nobel causes to awaken people. His movement was widely appreciated. He was elected twice... to the Rastriya Panchayat or the parliament of the party-less Panchayat era... He was jailed for his campaign at times. He is still remembered for his firebrand campaigns and fiery public speeches. In terms of legislation of informational acessibility, Rudane and Thaha movement has been successful."
"Rup Chandra Bista, as we all know, is an extraordinary figure in Nepali politics. The way he lived his life, his ideology, and him pioneering the uniquely Nepali philosophy, known as Thaha Darshan, is essentially what inspired us to bring his life on screen. His life is as fascinating as it is inspiring... he said, ‘majority of us Nepalis are satisfied with one plate of rice and an embrace of a wife.’ That, for him, was not enough. He urged the people to live deliberately and consciously. So here’s this character who is largely forgotten in today’s Nepal. ...Rup Chandra Bista is someone who also spoke the truth and always did the right thing."
Young though he was, his radiant energy produced such an impression of absolute reliability that Hedgewar made him the first sarkaryavah, or general secretary, of the RSS.
- Gopal Mukund Huddar
Largely because of the influence of communists in London, Huddar's conversion into an enthusiastic supporter of the fight against fascism was quick and smooth. The ease with which he crossed from one worldview to another betrays the fact that he had not properly understood the world he had grown in.
Huddar would have been 101 now had he been alive. But then centenaries are not celebrated only to register how old so and so would have been and when. They are usually celebrated to explore how much poorer our lives are without them. Maharashtrian public life is poorer without him. It is poorer for not having made the effort to recall an extraordinary life.
I regret I was not there to listen to Balaji Huddar's speech [...] No matter how many times you listen to him, his speeches are so delightful that you feel like listening to them again and again.
By the time he came out of Franco's prison, Huddar had relinquished many of his old ideas. He displayed a worldview completely different from that of the RSS, even though he continued to remain deferential to Hedgewar and maintained a personal relationship with him.
