"Sometimes spiritual, religious leaders and interreligious dialogue can pave the way for a dialogue between two sides to a conflict. It can abolish misconceptions, it can create trust, it can promote dialogue and build bridges to peace. In this respect interreligious dialogue can be a foundation between two sides to a conflict."
"It is time to deploy a new agency in Gaza that is focused more on humanitarian efforts, and not on activism or, in some cases, terrorism. The latest polio campaign, spearheaded by UNICEF, the World Health Organization and IDF, where more than 600,000 Gazan children were vaccinated, shows that progress is possible when Israel is working with partners interested in humanitarian efforts."
"I think the first thing that shoud be done is to apply personal sanctions against some of the bad actors in the international arena; I give you and example, I don't know if you heard about Francesca Albanese - yeah, you can boo her, you can - and I think the US - and many here in the crowd from the US - US shoud apply sanctions against her. She shouldn't be allowed entering the United States of America. She comes once a month to promote hate, to go to universities, and you know she compared our prime minister Netanyahu to Hitler; and she compare your president to orrible leaders. That's unacceptable and I expect the new administration to be stronger on this issue."
"I want to congratulate my dear friend Governor Mike Huckabee. I think he will be a great ambassador to Israel. I think he visited Israel dozens of times. And I had the honor to escort him. Also, after October 7, he came, and I took him to visit the sites on Kfar Aza and Be'eri and other locations where the massacre took place."
"Israeli Arabs must know they cannot live here and call the day of Israel's establishment the day of disaster."
"The sooner the Arab children will learn that they must build their houses where they are now, as the solution is not their return to Israel, the better it will be for everyone."
"What Hamas did was a massacre"
"The idea is to put the Palestinians on a diet, but not to make them die of hunger."
"The disengagement is actually formaldehyde. It supplies the amount of formaldehyde that is necessary so there will not be a political process with the Palestinians."
"Effectively, this whole package called the Palestinian state, with all that it entails, has been removed indefinitely from our agenda. And all this with authority and permission. All with a presidential blessing and the ratification of both houses of Congress."
"The significance of the disengagement plan is the freezing of the peace process."
"We gave them 42% of the land. Did we get 42% of peace? Did we even get 20% of peace?"
Young though he was, his radiant energy produced such an impression of absolute reliability that Hedgewar made him the first sarkaryavah, or general secretary, of the RSS.
- Gopal Mukund Huddar
Largely because of the influence of communists in London, Huddar's conversion into an enthusiastic supporter of the fight against fascism was quick and smooth. The ease with which he crossed from one worldview to another betrays the fact that he had not properly understood the world he had grown in.
Huddar would have been 101 now had he been alive. But then centenaries are not celebrated only to register how old so and so would have been and when. They are usually celebrated to explore how much poorer our lives are without them. Maharashtrian public life is poorer without him. It is poorer for not having made the effort to recall an extraordinary life.
I regret I was not there to listen to Balaji Huddar's speech [...] No matter how many times you listen to him, his speeches are so delightful that you feel like listening to them again and again.
By the time he came out of Franco's prison, Huddar had relinquished many of his old ideas. He displayed a worldview completely different from that of the RSS, even though he continued to remain deferential to Hedgewar and maintained a personal relationship with him.
