Marcel Nel

Marcel Nel (born 29 November 1985) is a South African design draughtsman who works in the mining sector across Africa and is a commentator. He is the author of the quotation "Liberty is the soul's right... not the state's gift." The earliest known public appearance of the phrase was on X (formerly Twitter) on 17 September 2025.
