"Since the beginning, we said that that would be a terrible idea. It's such a beautiful place and we need to keep what we have,"
"it is premature to presume that Mr. Powell will pivot into a dovish stance, given commodities and housing have seen some cooling. "The Fed's in a really unenviable place, if they tighten too much, they risk exacerbating the recession," she said. "If they don't tighten enough, they're not going to get inflation where they want it and they could risk their credibility.""
"Bridgewater is "bearish on equities broadly, including the United States, including Europe,""
"Bridgewater's institutional investors are bracing for a prolonged stagflationary period — an economic condition marked by slowing growth and high inflation — and are looking to protect their portfolios in the event of "sustained bear markets.""
"After 25-plus years of researching and investing, I've come to realize that my strengths and passion as an investor are best aligned with more discretionary, less systematic approaches.""
"After three years of working with incredibly talented, dedicated, and caring colleagues during unprecedented times for the global economy and markets, I have decided to explore my next chapter at the end of this year."
""They’re building condos in Hudson, but in the village, so they can also appreciate this without taking it away,"

"I know there is a God, because in Rwanda I shook hands with the devil. I have seen him, I have smelled him and I have touched him. I know the devil exists and therefore I know there is a God."
"For most countries, serving the UN's objectives has never seemed worth even the smallest of risks. Member nations do not want a large, reputable, strong and independent United Nations, no matter their hypocritical pronouncements otherwise. What they want is a weak, beholden, indebted scapegoat of an organization, which they can blame for their failures or steal victories from."
"I think the people in the field were magnificent. And they got the stories, and I put troops at risk to get their stories out every night. But the copy people and the editing people back home, they're the ones who put Tanya Harding on and O.J. Simpson, not the guys in the field."
"The possibility of starting a new program at the college — a military Cegep that would allow all officer cadets to spend two years in Saint-Jean before going to Kingston, instead of studying only in Kingston — is being considered. In the spirit of progress, would it be possible to support a principle as basic as the freedom of francophones in the Canadian Armed Forces by establishing a Cegep-style francophone bilingual military college."

"Did not Mister Godbout himself – I will surprise many, such a bad historical reputation was made about him – propose in 1948, in all letters, the holding of a referendum to reach [...], let us get ready, "an equal to equal agreement between Quebec and Canada"? It was 32 years ago..."
"Posterity, until now, has been truly inequitable regarding Godbout. It is true, he was responsible [...] of renunciations, if you will, renunciations that this absolutely infernal pressure of wartime made probably inevitable. But it is quite unjust that people forgot that these few years of the Godbout government were also punctuated by three crucial decisions that almost constitute the act of birth of contemporary Quebec. In a few brief years, in only one government mandate, the creation of Hydro-Quebec, the establishment of obligatory instruction and [...] the women's vote."
