"Just do it. That is, the hardest part is getting to the starting line. With adventures, you never know what's going to happen. But if you just stay in your comfort zone and don't change anything, then it's comfortable, but it's also boring. And that's why you just have to do it, take the first step."
"The key is to break down the big goal into small ones. In my mind I don't cycle 18,000 km, I always cycle to the next gas station or restaurant and reward myself with some chocolate."
"The hardest thing is always getting to the starting line and having the courage to do it. Most adventures fail because they are never done."

"Criminal history shows us how many torturers of men, and murderers, have first been torturers of animals. The manner in which a nation in the aggregate treats animals, is one chief measure of its real civilization. The Latin races, as we know, come forth badly from this examination; we Germans, not half well enough. Buddhism has done more in this direction than Christianity, and Schopenhauer more than all ancient and modern philosophers together. The warm sympathy with sentient Nature which pervades all the writings of Schopenhauer, is one of the most pleasing aspects of his thoroughly intellectual, yet often unhealthy and unprofitable philosophy."
"I think it was my first red card as a manager, I went to the assistant referee and I said: âHow many wrong decisions are allowed? Because if itâs 15 we have one left.â"

They didn't go down to the Championship for no reason....Now they are back and we have to make sure that we use the situation. It is a wonderful team, great coach and I'm really happy for them to get promoted."
"I really have to say I love women's football, it's outstanding. The quality of the tournament is insane. England is doing exceptionally well. I saw three games of Germany too, they've been doing really well as well. It's a really good final - two intense teams facing each other. As much as I love England, my heart is with the German side. At a sold out Wembley with an English crowd, it will be a massive challenge for Germany. England are slight favourites playing at home, but Germany has a chance. Most important is the face women's football showed, it's a fantastic game. Women's football, over the last few years, exploded in their development. It's tactically and technically on an incredibly high level. The intensity of the games - physically it's really, really good and I love watching it. Congratulations to all the teams that were a part of it because it is a commercial for football, not only women's football."

"Maybe Klopp is the best manager in the world at creating teams who attack [...] I donât think there is another team in the world attacking in this way with so many players capable of launching moves in an instant. [...] When Klopp speaks about his football being heavy metal, I understand completely. It is so aggressive. For the fans it is really good."
"Look, what I donât like in life is that (for) a very serious thing, a football managerâs opinion is important. I donât understand it, Itâs not important what famous people say. You have to speak about things in the right manner. Not people with no knowledge, like me, talking about something. People with knowledge should tell the people to do this, do that and everything will be fine, or not. Not football managers. I donât understand politics, coronavirus... why me? I wear a baseball cap and have a bad shave."

"Thatâs the problem these days, whatever bullshit you say nobody will forget it."
"For me, football is the only thing more inspiring than the cinema. You wake up in the morning, and the magic was all real."

"As a young man Wilhelm had gone to China in the service of a Christian mission, and there the mental world of the Orient had opened its doors wide to him. Wilhelm was a truly religious spirit, with an unclouded and farsighted view of things. He had the gift of being able to listen without bias to the revelations of a foreign mentality, and to accomplish that miracle of empathy which enabled him to make the intellectual treasures of China accessible to Europe. He was deeply influenced by Chinese culture, and once said to me, "It is a great satisfaction to me that I never baptized a single Chinese!" In spite of his Christian background, he could not help recognizing the logic and clarity of Chinese thought. [...] Clear and unmistakably Western as his mentality was, in his I Ching commentary he manifested a degree of adaptation to Chinese psychology which is altogether unmatched."

In the past couple of years, Wilhelm wrote, he had been living âthe life of a vagabond,â dragging slides and lectures everywhere, attending many gemiitlich get-togethers âin which one has always to inform people that the Chinese do not eat earthworms and rotten eggs and only rarely kill their little girls ..."

On thee has the Lord a great work to complete."
2. Aug.
