"I expected opposition so it was not a surprise. I just ignored it and went ahead to do what I wanted to do. I was able to get the party ticket the same way as everybody else. I was able to persuade people to vote for me by telling them why I was going into politics which was to represent my people and be a voice for them. I answered any question anyone asked.
