James Hogg

James Hogg (1770 – November 21, 1835), often known as The Ettrick Shepherd, was a self-educated Scottish poet, novelist, short-story writer and journalist. He is best known for his 1824 novel The Private Memoirs and Confessions of a Justified Sinner.
