Robert Gerard Sands (Irish Roibeard Gearóid Ó Seachnasaigh; 9 March 1954 – 5 May 1981) was a Northern Irish member of the IRA who died on hunger strike whilst imprisoned in HM Prison Maze for the possession of firearms. He was the leader of the protests in which ten prisoners eventually starved themselves to death.
